Cant connect to nas after 1.03.49_V upgrade

Just keep getting the error that it cant connect to the share.

Have tried everything, including factory reset, hard reset, power off, setting autologin to off. Nothing helps

Windows can see the share without any problem, so its not a securtiy issue

This is a known bug in the new firmware. So far as I know, there is no work around. The only thing you can do is rollback the firmware. Here is a link to do that for the WDTVLive:

Have same problem as #1, and rolling back dosn’t seem to fix the issue for me atm. Might return the product - cause tried everything atm…^^

Did you do a RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS?

If so, there’s GOT to be something else going on.   Outside of a configuration item getting stuck (which WILL clear after a Reset to Factory Defaults and whatnot)  I don’t see any possible way that a roll forward followed by a rollback would NOT correct the problem.

FIXED it

Ok, i can now again watch movies from my nas.

(WD HAS STILL FAILED BIGTIME)

Here is what i did, not sure if every step is needed - but at least it might help you.

(this is EXACTLY what i did)

(Im not sure if you have to rollback the firmware first, but thats what i did).

1: rolled back to an older version.

2: Rollback didnt work (but might trigger this to work?)

  • Clear login information, and choose “do not remember nework”

  • When it asks you for credentials, clear both fields (clear annonymous so u got 2 blank fields)

  • Try to login with the 2 blank fields.

  • VOILLA, i can now connect - but ofcourse i have no access to any files.

  • Now try to connect with your regular username/password.

  • BINGO, now it worked - but not before i tried with the blank option. WHAT THE **bleep**!!!..

I upgraded as well to 1.03 and it finds the drives adn the computer but I can’t go on with out a user name and password. I never had one before.

So I went back to 1.02 version and I still can’t log on to my network. It keeps asking me for a user name and password. Does anyone have a reliable fix for this? This make my WD useless with out it.

Thanking anyone in advance for their help.

yes, enter proper user name and password.

@flux242 no need to be wise… the man’s got a problem, he obviously tried the correct user and password.

WD needs to put some effort into this, it’s ridiculous!

I previously upgraded from 1.02.21 to 1.03.49 and kinda laughed at guys loosing network shares.

I even gave advice on how to enable a registry hack in win7 to make guest = anonymous.

However, I just upgraded to 1.04.10 and lost my network shares. This is just stupid!

The problem is i tried resetting to factory defaults, pushed the paperclip reset button, restarted my pc, none of it works.

DLNA (media server) works, but when selecting network shares nothing happens.

Anybody got any clues?
