Can't connect to mycloud via mycloud.com

I recently bought and setup the 2TB mycloud device. I connected the device to my router/network successfully. I was able to map to it from my PC, connect to it via the admin dashboard, create new users and shares, save files to it and connect to it via mycloud.com. A few days later I had a power outage. Everything locally still works. I can still access it and my saved files from my PC. I can still access the admin dashboard. However, even after trying to cycle my modem/router/mycloud connection, I still cannot access it via mycloud.com.

These are the steps I am taking. I power off the mycloud device. I then cycle my internet connection. I wait until I am connected to the internet and then I power on the mycloud. The light flashes blue for a bit and then goes solid blue. As mentioned before, I can connect to it locally but mycloud.com can’t see it. I logged into my router as admin and confirmed the device is connect and still assigned the same IP as day 1.

Any thoughts on a solution?

Sometimes a simple turning off then on the Remote Access/Cloud Access option in the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings will solve the problem.

Couple of suggestions. Assign a a static IP address to the My Cloud through the router’s administration interface. Check the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings section to see what the My Cloud indicates for a remote access connection status. In certain cases one may have to set the My Cloud Dashboard remote access option to manual, set to remote ports, then configure “port forwarding” through their network router to get remote access working properly on the My Cloud.
