Cannot update firmware (currently on 5.14.105)

Hello everyone,
I have a WD Cloud Mirror Gen 2 and I’m having lots of issues with that.
The NAS was always been pretty slow because it’d be continuously indexing files,
Even to access the dashboard it’d take minutes to completely open it on Chrome.
For those reasons, I decided to stop using it about 6 months ago.
This week I decided to turn it back on, update the firmware and see if it was better.
The first issue is that one of the disks is assigned as bad, so I’ll need to buy a replacement.
The main issue, though, is that it doesn’t update the firmware.
I tried both the 4 seconds and the 40 seconds resets.
I restarted that more than 20 already and nothing works.
If I try to use the update button, it downloads the new firmware up to 27%. then gets stuck until the session times out not completing the update.
If I try updating from file, I’m able to fully upload the firmware BIN file from the computer to the NAS but I get the following message: " * Firmware file not found. Please try again.".
I tried with all versions between 5.14.104 and the latest one.
I don’t know what else to try…

Hi @fredcoque,

Please refer to the article How to Auto Update Firmware on a My Cloud:

I ended up contacting WD Support and found a way of solving this.
My NAS had one of the drives bad.
Believe it or not, this was preventing the firmware to be updated.
I replaced the HD and my NAS updated normally.
Awful…
