I have the above 4tb nas unit. Recently I relised that my Mac can’t back up the time machine to this drive anymore. I can’t see the drive on my Mac.
I inspect the drive, and I realised the Blue led is blinking perpetually, never stops. I don’t know the firmware version as I have not access the dashboard for a long time.
Are my backup files gone?
How do I access my backup files now that I can see it on my network? Can I connect it to my Mac using usb to do that?
I have tried soft reset, it turns out the same all the time. BLUE LED KEPT FLASHING AND NEVER STOPS NOR CHANGE COLOUR.
TRIED:
powering down and power up again.
Hold 4 secs to do soft reset
Restart the router that it is connected to.
Please help. The drive contains previous memories of my children growing up.
You come here with hopes of connecting with someone who may owner the same or similar product you’re troubleshooting who may be able to shed some light on a potential fix. What I’m dying to know is why people think replying with the advise to “call tech support” one the very first post before anyome has been able to offer input is educating good post is just funny to me. This may be a surprise to the tech support junkies, but there are many of us troubleshoot, research, and fix things on our own without tech support! Tech support is nothing new, my Everyone even my 68 yr old mom is well aware of tech support without your advice. support! is a constructive Everyone who sets up dosen’t stop people people from dropping replies advising those “you might want to call tech support”. As if tech support is some unknown entity people need to be educated on. ery few are aware of! It’s the equivalent or “did you plug it in”. This is a place for people who prefer not to contact tech support spend hours on the phone
