Back Up Problems

Tried to install WD Passport to Window 10 PC. I get a message that says “No back up target found” Utilities are installed WD Discovery installed, Security and Backup won’t install. I’m not very happy with the poor install instructions.

Hello, m.ruggie

WD® My passport does not require any software to run on Windows it is a Mass storage device need to be plugged into the computer. Well if you want to back up the data automatically on the My passport then you can use WD® backup software or WD Smartware to schedule an automatic backup process on the drive.

I installed the Backing up files, The WD drive is connected to the
computer. After clicking on the Backup files button, I get a message, “no
backup targets found”. So, for some reason the backup software is not
recognizing the WD drive that is connected, via USB, to the computer. How
do I correct this issue? I have tried reinstalling the WD software and
that did not work either. I am using Windows 10. I am beginning to think
this product is a dud and perhaps I should consider a Seagate product.

NOT TOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!
Hopefully someone has a solution before I am forced to toss the WD external
drive knowing I have wasted $100.
