Anti-Virus Essentials DB update taking forever

Hello,
I own a MyCloud EX2 Ultra upgraded to FW 5.13.115
I can not use Anti-Virus Essentials v. 1.30: just asking for database update takes hours
and the scan is never ending
I also tried to refresh database using SSH command line freshclam with verbose and debug mode enabled
After a while i see db being dowloaded but then it gets stuck on
LibClamAV debug: daily.cvd loaded

I also see some errors (below) that suggest application is not up to date, but I cant find a new version to install.
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local version: 0.102.4 Recommended version: 0.103.2
and
LibClamAV debug: cli_loadftm: File type signature for PNG not loaded (required f-level: 122)

freshclam -V reports
ClamAV 0.102.4/26165

Any suggestion would be appreciated, thank you

Thx. I checked that (thare also a couple of my posts and at that time it worked)
It seems last db updates are not fully compatible with application version currently available
But it should then happen for all Anitivirus users… not just me
I also removed application and reinstalled from scratch
No change

It’s always been awfully slow with OS5. I never had OS3 so I can’t compare but it does not make sense to be so slow at downloading and installing virus definitions.
And the engine should be up to date.

That’s a bit long, innit?
As long as updating the whole OS…

in my case it is taking HOURS…

WD Community:
Anti-VIrus Essentials in OS 3 didn’t install with a freshclam database and thus the update would actually download the entire database. IE: not comparison needed

Anti-Virus Essentials in OS 5 installs with the most recently updated database at the time of app release. So any update must compare the entire database to the one that is online and thus taking much longer to process. IE: Think ‘resync like process’

WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local version: 0.102.4 Recommended version: 0.103.2

This means the version of ClamAV, not the database is not the latest version of ClamAV build.

Hi, I add some update issue.
I lunched update of DB only yesterday and it took some (3 to 4) hours but it worked
Then I started an antivirus check of a shared folder (151gb) and now it is running since 24+ hrs with 0% progress.
The nas is running something since disk are noisly spinning and cpu is 75%
I understand it can take time, but do not understand 0% progress so far

The 0% issue will be fixed in the next firmware / app release.

Hi, I installed the App upgrade.
The 0% issue has been solved BUT the database update is still taking a LOOONG time
It gets stuck at 82% and then completes in 8 hours
It is not usable at these conditions

I have the same issue with v1.35 and latest bios on my ultra ex 2: download new virus definition always stops at 99% and never stops while hard disks are running the whole time. stop only if I delete whole anti virus app
