Adding USB Drive on a hub Mycloud EX2

I added 4 3tb drives to my device using a Shark USB 3.0 4 port hub.  Checked the dashboard and all the drives were there. I noticed that one of the drives was only showing half of its capacity so I decided to reformat all the drives and start over.  I took each drive and did a quick format on my windows system.  

When I added them back to the Mycloud device it would no longer recognize them.  Message is “there are no USB devices found” I tried rebooting, powercycling but it will not see the drives. However all drives are recignized and pcheck out fine on my windiows system. 

I did find that when I added 2 of the drives back without using the hub it found them. I can eject them and put them back with no problem but if I add them using the hub then they are not recognized. 

The main array is 10tb so I need all 4 of these USB drives attached in order to back up the entire array. 

Did I do something wrong?  Does it remember the hub and refuse to let me reuse it?  Any ideas?

UPDATE: Using the same USB hub I can add a Kingingston thumb drive with no problems but it still will not recignize the 3tb drives connected to the hub. 

Problem resolved. 

I have no idea why this worked but I will just count my blessings and accept it. 

I moved the Kingsington flash drive from port to port on the USB hub dismoutning it every time. Each time I replace it with one of my 3tb drives. One by one the EX2 found them and added them to expansion storage. 

Thank god. my next step was going to be a factory reset.  ( I already had 6tb loaded on the main array and it would have taken days too copy it off . )

Got a call and a remote connect from a tech at WD. He couldnt get the Ex2 to see the USB drives either so he dumped the error log and sent it to engineering. 

No the think wont come ready !!! I can log into it via the web browser but it does not show up as a device on my network. Tried powering it off and back on but no help.

What i really want is my money back. .
