What is the purpose of the Activation Code as I loaded the app on my android device and connect straight away to my cloud? No code as asked for?
The My Cloud Dashboard and the My Cloud User Manual (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904&lang=en) both explain the reason behind the option of using a “code” to enable a mobile device to access a My Cloud. The primary reason for the activation code is to allow a remote mobile device to access a remote My Cloud (using the WD My Cloud mobile app) after one has granted that mobile user remote access privileges to a My Cloud device through the My Cloud Dashboard. Don’t remember off hand if the code will also work for a remote user who is using the My Cloud Desktop program for Windows/Mac. I assume it does though.
