Acronis True Image for WD not finding My Passport

Have just installed Acronis True Image for WD as WD Backup ceased to work, when Acronis scans for WD Hardware it is failing to find MyPassport despite it being recognised by Windows. I have ejected and reconnected drive to usb port on PC, switched USB ports but no avail. What else can I try to get it to recognise a drive I can see and access?

OS: Windows 10 20H2

Hi @MartinNJ,

My Passport SSD is not supported on older versions of Acronis True Image for Western Digital.

Hi Keerti,

That may well be the case for new products, but the 4 Tb one I have is not SSD. Model No WDBYFT0040BBK-WESN

There might be issue with the image which you have created using Acronis true Image or else there is an issue with the drive. Most of the times, the error message “Access is Denied” indicates that there is some problem with the hard drive, which has made the hard drive inaccessible.

Here, I suggest you to check the below link that explains the methods to fix the inaccessible hard drive:

You can also switch to Stellar Data Recovery Professional software to create disk image and perform data recovery.

Hope it helps!

The hard drive isn’t inaccessible, Windows recognises, I can write to it, the problem is Acronis which doesn’t access the drive.

Rather than a solution you seem to be pushing another product aka spam.
