Access My Cloud

I am having trouble accessing My Cloud.
Can anybody help?

More information is needed for users to assist in troubleshooting your issue.
What specific My Cloud device do you have?
How are you trying to access it (local network or remote access)?
What color is the front LED?
Can you access the My Cloud Dashboard?
Are you getting an error message and if so what is the specific error message?
What specific troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Hello

The device is My Cloud (not My Cloud Home) and it connected to my home router.

I am trying to access it either from a tablet or a laptop, both connected to the network by WiFi and cable respectively. I know that remote access won’t work as it is too old.

The LED starts off at amber but then goes off. It didn’t used to!

I can get the dashboard up on both tablet & laptop.

However, I cannot get Windows to access the device so I can see the data on it. I just want to download the data.

The help file states …

Download the WD 2go desktop application at http://setup.wd2go.com

But this doesn’t load.

The troubleshooting methods in the help file don’t help at all.

In “Network” I can see WDMyCloud but clicking on that brings up “Twonky”, no idea what that is!

Check that SMB1.0/File Sharing is enabled if using Windows.

Also if using Windows ensure you have configured the Network Profile for Private and not Public.

One can “map” Shares for easier access.

Thank you so much.

I had not seen this table before despite many hours of searching through WD “help” documents.
