5TB WD USB 3.0 Drive attached to Cloud Drive

Hi Guys,
I have a 4TB Mycloud. I just bought a 5TB standard USD3.0 WD Drive.

I thought I would try attaching the new drive to the cloud drive.

I get this message.

Unable to create share
A share could not be created on a USB device (vendor: Western Digital, model: Elements 107C, serial number: 575833314431355037364856, file system: ntfs, label: Elements, share name: Elements).

I see some others have had similar messages but can’t find one where there is a good remedy that I might try.

My firmware is up to date.

It can see the drive…knows the size and vendor…it just can’t create a share on it.

There are existing shares on it created by windows7. So I am guessing when it tries to make the drive available it issues some sort of share create command from the lunix OS to be able to write to the drive.

Thanks in Advance for any advice you can give me.

It will be much appreciated.

Best Regards

Peter

Have you looked at the User Manual, Connecting a USB Hard Drive (P.85).
