I’ve spent all day looking for possible solutions to fix this issue but so far nothing has worked!
I’ve got a 3TB “MyBook Live” connected directly to my laptop which is running Windows 10.
Everything is working fine but I can’t access my files via File Explorer. I can use the Twonky media server and see the Mybook interface in my web browser but can’t view my files!
Unless your system allows you to join multiple networks you may have to disable WiFi in order to obtain access to your NAS. Why don’t you try connecting your unit into a router instead?
Thank you for your reply Trancer. Just tried your suggestion by turning Wifi off but no luck, it gave the same error message. The reason I have it connected directly to my computer is because I want to move large amounts of data which would be to slow over Wifi and too cumbersome if I were to connect directly to my router.
It’s just strange that I have full access and usage of the Twonky media server as well as the web interface, but can’t get to my files!
You are asking a community of users. You’re offended that we don’t have suggestions? If you have gone through the usual list of actions to get this working on Windows there’s not much we have to offer.
If you are directly connected to Windows rather than going through a router than you must have a static IP address. Yes? If so, have you made sure you have manually turned on NetBIOS over TCP/IP? (I assume you have or you probably couldn’t connect to the media server.)
