Windows users no authentication

Hello,

I’ve got the WD MyCloud 4TB and I’ve notice that Windows users are able to access my drive like guest users. But OS X users are unable to access the drive with gusest account, but they need to provide username and password instead(Exactly as I want it to be). Its kind of weird for me. How can I make windows user to access the disk only with the correct login details?

in windows they should be able to see the device and shares but only access public shares without sining in

any user with an account on the mycloud needs to connect to a non-public share before connecing to a public share

create another user and you can map the drives in windows and log in with the credintals /password and set up the folder they can see.

All my data were under the folder “Public”. I create another folder outside “Public” and move all my data in there. Then I Made the folder private and set full access permissions to specific users. And problem solved. Thanks for your hints.

Also I can see that TimeMachine folder is not accessible by the TimeMachine app on my MBP unless the folder is public. For example I cant make it private and give full access permissions to the timemachine user, it aint gonna work. Is that normal?
