Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 cannot access MCH Local Network Access

MD Discovery was working fine but not any more now!
With the Local Network Access function on MCH, my Windows10 Pro(22H2 version) PC always have “Access is denied” error.

I tried to enable the local group policy of “Enable insecure guest logons and select Edit” but still access is denied.

I have 2 more computers and it is working okay with Local Network Access on MCH.
These computers has Windows7 and Windows 10 Home version.

Please let me know how to resolve this issue?
Windows 10 Pro PC is my main PC so I’m in trouble now…

You probably don’t have Win10 Enterprise or Edu so you don’t have to do that.

Usually one would create a new user in this problem PC, such as Admin2 and pw and then log out of the previous user and log into the new Admin2. Then in Windows proceed to log into the MCH with the local credential previously created through the ‘enable local pw’ webapp provided by WD.

Hi NoPlex, thank you for your recommendations.
I think the Windows10 Pro 22H2 version is enterprise one.

I tried new user ID and password at Windows 10 pro which is identical or different with the MCH local access credential.
But still the error message pops out either identical or different credential input.

The log-in pop up window always saying that “The user name or password is incorrect” in red color.

I tried file sharing function with this problemed PC between other PCs and it works okay.
I don’t have any clue about this PC because the other Windows7 and Windows 10 Home works fine with MCH…

Usually this is a credential problem that pops up in a number of different NASes and usually it could be solved with a different credential.

  • Try rebooting the problem PC and try to log into MCH again.
  • Try changing the local password to the MCH with something completely different and simple (different name, different password but without special characters or lengths over 14 char) and try again.

I have a problem enabling local mode, when I access the control panel, it redirects me to the page to download the app.

I can’t access the page where to create the local access credentials.

Try a different browser. Try to disable your cookie blocker. Try to log in with ‘http’ instead of ‘https’ since this is local there is no risk unless you don’t trust your own local network.

I do that, but it always redirects me to the page to download the app, I don’t get the page to activate the local network.

Before redirecting, it gives me a few seconds that the device is not ready and quickly changes to the app download page.

I don’t know if it has something to do with the router ports, since from web access and from the mobile application it works perfectly.
