For two days now remote access is not working. Remote access is on and wd cloud device is connected. This is becoming intolerable. No settings have been altered!!!

Well, My first suggestion is the following:

Update your the firmware from the WD website. (Its a fast process dont worry your data wont be touched)

After this is completed, “Pair” Manually your Idevice or laptop with the MyCloud app, but use the code paring instead.
( In your admin console in your own network you will be able to access the user panel and from there you can obtain the actiation code, which is unique per user in your shares).
Additionally, make sure to execute the port forwarding in your network with your router if possible for the port 80 and 443.
If this is too technical, just try the first 2 points.
