I keep have the message " subtitle off" while playing a movie from my file.
Already went to
Setup > playback setting > subtitle default > select the “ON” ( per user manual page 135).
while playing a movie from my computer file. - pressed the "options " key on the remote -
do not have the "subtitle " or "adjust subtitle " on the menu
[only got the - play mode, audio, adjust lip sync…]
- as should be, per user manual page 46.
Got the subtitle file- same name to the movie file. Only with extension .srt , on the same folder
My guess is you’re using a DLNA server? If so, “external” subs aren’t supported very well between various DLNA servers and players.
The best solution in most cases is to import the subttitle directly into the file instead of using separate files.

yes via DLNA win 7 on my PC
how to import the subtitle into the file ?
thank for the reply.
Well, MKVMergeGUI does the job for MKVs.
Can’t answer for MP4s, I don’t use them with subtitles.

Connected now external hard drive to USB port in the WD TV PLay
added to the folder - SRT file
with same name of file
to MP4 & MKV file.
Got both TV programs with subtitles.
I am sorry, but this is the most unfriendly devise I ever owned.
1st to download files
2nd to download subtitles
3rd to rename the subtitle to same name of file ( to delete the language extension)
4th to transfer all files to the USB device & to attached o the TV Play
than to be able to watch
it is just like good old days of DOS
not user friendly.
[ the BS player on my PC do it all automaticly]
Not talking at other issue that still have no idea from which file on My PC I got the my movies APS.
Now found there movie from my cam that I download to my PC to some pictures file.
is there any place to send feed back ?
