I know many people have asked similar questions in terms of how to access a locked mypassport drive. The problem is this. My laptop hard drive was corrupted and I managed to retrieve the data from the internal hard drive using a data retrieval company.
The laptop used to unlock the drive automatically but now that the laptop has a new hard disk (not WD) it wont unlock the WD mypassport drives when I plug them in via USB.
The question is if I have a backup of the old laptop drive what files should I copy over to allow me to access the locked external drives - obviously I currently cannot remember the password to the unlock the drives.
