WDTV Network Share issue

Hello guys,

I am trying to use a network shared external HDD as media library for my WDTV Media player.
The HDD is connected to a Raspberry Pi 3, which has a Samba server installed and configured. I configured the HDD as a network share in the Samba configuration file. So now I can see it in my home network - from my Mac, my iPhone and I have read/write permissions there. Unfortunately when I try to connect from the WDTV media player I see the Raspberry Pi, but when I enter the same username and password that I use on the Mac to connect, I get the “Unable to connect to the selected source…” message.

Is there anything particular I need to set up on the Samba server for WDTV to connect?

Thanks in advance.

Might help to look a smbd.log/nmbd.log files on the Pi.

Nothing there :frowning:

I don’t know anything about the OS you’re using, but see if you can increase the logging level. The server logs are your only chance, IMHO…

I increased the log level, but I will be able to test later. Thanks for the idea. I was wondering how I can track what is going on, but you pushed me into the right track.
