Sorry if this is the stupid question of the day, but I am a “high end audio enthusiast” and have in one of my systems been using the WDTV Optical out to go into a Cal Audio Labs DAC with fantastic results. I am now considering setting up another WDTV - DAC system BUT in which the only input to the DAC in question is USB. Is this possible with the WDTV box??
DAC’s don’t appear on the compatible devices list … so i would say a highly unlikely “No” it won’t work. (and if the DAC is USB “Input” the WDTV can’t “Output” audio via USB)
WDTV has to have USB drivers in the firmware to support it … and you can’t install drivers on a WDTV
