WD TV Media Player USB port

Hi, I’m keen on getting a WD TV Media Player, since I see many USB wifi adapters have been supported by its USB port, I’m wondering if it’s possible that it can support usb dac or usb sound card? I know its optical output can connect to dac, so just wonder if there’s such a possibility, thanks.

usb dac’s and soundcards do not appear on the compatible devices list …

so, it’s unlikely they will work … most probably due to driver support (and, no … you can’t install drivers on a WDTV)

That’s right, I figured it out in the first place. Just curious about the possiblity. There’s still an operating system in the WD TV, right? How would USB wifi adapter work, anyway?

Well, it is Linux at the core, but with WD Proprietary Code (and some GNU code) on what it basically a MIPS device

If you wanna use DAC’s and Soundcards … Raspberry Pi2 is your best alternative (i have one, love it, haven’t used my WDTV in a little while now … XBMC/Kodi = the best … Using OpenELEC Milhouse Build)
