Hello everyone,

I recently bought WD TV Live Plus HD Media Player along with Airlink AWLL5077 wireless Adapter

Here is model No: WDBABX0000NBK-NESN   and  Current version: 1.04.17_B

Using this Wireless Adapter, I am able to connect my Vista laptop with Netgear wifi router but WD Plus is not recognizing USB adapter.

Recommended version mentioned in WD web site is -

Airlink Golden 150 AWLL5077 Rev 0200

Am I doing some thing wrong? or how to get compatible AirLink version with WD firmware.

Help me out guys, I do not want to buy another wifi adapter :frowning:

Thanks in advance.

Same I’m also facing the same problem as you.

I’m using TP-Link Wireless N USB Adapter [Model No: TL-WN821N].

it was also in their list of recommended wireless adaptor that is compatiable to their WDTV

Its important that your adaptors have the same revision / version number as the tested item. If you have different number then the manufacturer may have changed the internal chipset to one that is not supported by the WD firmware.

You must also have the latest firmware on the WDTV.

Hey guys, finally I got it working and it is awsome…I already watched hrs of shows and videos on Netflix and you tube…

Here you go—

First I made a physical connection between WD TV live plus and my netgear internet router using ethernet cable.

WD identified it and got connected with internet, it got  IP Address. Then WD TV live downloaded new firmware and updated.

WD was rebooted and connection was up.

I removed the cable and plugged in Airlink USB wireless adapter. This time WD recognized the adapter.

Working settings are WD Firmware 1.04.31_B + Airlink AWLL5077(ver as attached snapshot).

I bought the WD Live TV Plus (firm ware is the latest as of 5/22/2011) and seems to be recognizing my AirLinkLL5077 wireless USB (which is the first option on your compatibility list and which others have gotten to work).

HOWEVER, as soon as I enter my wireless network’s password, the WD then no longer recognizes the network. At times I can put in the wireless network password, only to be submitted and upon return, the screen doesn’t recognize anything. The device connects physically to the network, but this is not possible with the set-up in my living room.

Does any one have a wireless solution to help?

make sure the signal is strong enough.  sometimes a reset works wonders as well.
