WD TV Plus Live will not see Airlink101 AWLL5077 Adapter after hours of firmware up/downgrading

Today is Saturday, March 5, 2011 and it’s now 5:15 pm (CST).

As my title indicates, the brand new WD TV Plus Live device just purchased still will not “see” Airlink101 AWLL5077 after over five hours of back and forth firmware upgrading and downgrading.

After these five plus hours of reading this forum and other reviews, I am still stumped.

(Amazon gives rave reviews of both the WD TV Live Plus device and the Airlink 101 AWLL5077 USB Adapter working well together. Sadly, this has not been my experience at all today.)

As best I can tell, after all my reading, the latest firmware that can actually “see” the Airlink101 AWLL5077 is Version 1.04.17.

I’ve also tried upgrading to Version 1.04.18 and here is that link:

I have “reset” the device to factory settings, and have cycled the power “off” and back “on”, and have even unplugged the power cord from the WD device. All to no avail.

What am I missing here?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your Airlink is the of the supported REVISION as noted on the list?

Airlink101 Wireless Monitor

Version 1.7.0 (Teuesday 24th November 2009)

I’ve done some looking around on the Internet to find out if I can download an upgrade. No luck as yet.

Not quite sure how you’re supposed to know what the “version” is when you order this adapter from Amazon.

Any other thoughts TonyPh12345?
