My hard drive is just dead. It has been a week since I’ve used it, this morning when I plugged it into my laptop, it was just dead, no LED’s, nothing, PC not picking it up, nothing, just dead.
Any suggestions or ideas would be welcome!
Can’t afford to lose this drive! Is there at the least a chance one can recover the data? Or does this state indicate that the HDD is lost?
Sorry for replying like a month later (don’t login/check the forum often) but I suggest trying a different usb port on your computer, a different usb cable, and possibly charging for a wall charger… If it truly comes down to it and you have a sata to usb adapter (or available power+data inside a desktop), it’s a standard hard drive inside the device and your computer should automatically detect the data partition if the HD is not dead.
