Hi all. I’m new around here.
I recently bought a WD TV to use to play looping video slideshows in the window of my photo studio. (I thought about using the WD TV picture viewer, but it’s clumsy at best.)
I use an 8gb USB stick to store the file, and set the video settings to Repeat.
My problem is when I supply it with a full 1080p mpeg file of about 3.5GB - it will play, but eventually stop after a few minutes. It may even repeat once or twice before reverting back to the menu system.
Sometimes when it stops, it complains that there is no longer a storage device connected.
I’ve managed to work around it with the not-ideal solution of making a 2GB 1080i file.
Perhaps I’m creating a dodgy file? I use Proshow Producer for exporting the slideshow to mpeg. The video files work perfectly well on the PC.
I did try using Microsoft’s Movie Maker, but for some reason it imposes large black borders all the way around *some* of the images, so I’m not sure exactly what to do.
