WD TV Play compatibility with WD My Passport 1TB External Hard Drive Storage

I am considering purchase of the WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black (WDBBEP0010BBK) from Amazon to plug into my new WD TV Play (WDBMBA0000NBK-HESN).  I wasn’t able to find this specific External Drive in the WD Compatibility List at: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9525/p/208/session/L2F2LzIvc25vLzEvdGltZS8xMzY4MDU4ODc4L3NpZC9CS1I2SUlwbA%3D%3D  Only older models of the WD My Passport are listed, even though the list has been recently updated.

My main concern is whether the USB port on the WD TV Play has sufficient power to operate the WD My Passport 1TB Drive.

Are the two devices compatible?

I just tested two of the latest WD Passports 1TB and 2TB on the WDTV Play and they worked perfectly.

So they are fully compatible.
