WD TV Media Player ISO file support

Hi,

I’m looking to buy a media player and the WD TV Media Player is looking like a good contender. Could anyone tell me whether it supports ISO files, please?

None of the documentaion or specs mentions ISO files. The WD TV Live does support ISO files but this is a legacy product I would prefer to get the more up to date version.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes it supports *.ISO

I ripped one of my DVD’s today using ImgBurn … copied the *.ISO onto a flashdrive and inserted it into the front USB

Plays Perfect … DVD menus and all (just like the original DVD)

Imgburn: *Freeware*  http://www.imgburn.com/

Tested on the *New* WDTV Media Player (Personal Edition)  … and also Works fine on the older WDTV Live Hub

NOTE 1:  *.ISO files over DLNA (Media Shares) in most case’s are not supported … but (Network Shares)  *.ISO streaming are

NOTE2: Ripping Bluray’s to *.ISO is also supported … but Bluray MENU navigation is not supported  (Bluray MENU’s are JAVA … which the WDTV does not support)

No menus on BD (ISO) playback.

Thanks Techflaws … but i did state that, if you wish to read again

NOTE2: Ripping Bluray’s to *.ISO is also supported … but Bluray MENU navigation is not supported  (Bluray MENU’s are JAVA … which the WDTV does not support)
