I have used WD Live Player and it recongize ISO files is their a reason the WD TV Play does not recognize ISO files ?
Is their a known fix for this.

It only supports ISO (AVCHD) video container, not ISO (VOB) so I assume it will play a BD ISO but not a DVD ISO.
That is correct, is their any plans to address that need?
If you’re talking about the WDTV PLAY that’s correct cause it does not support MPEG2. But the WDTV Live, Streaming and PE all do support DVD ISOs. Not from media servers of course cause that’s a limitation of DLNA.

No…
if you donot want to convert the files you can run the files off the p.c and run a third party software like p.s media server or plex they have builtin encoders
