Hi Everyone:
I apologize for the vague subject but it’s hard to capture all the information accurately
Yesterday, I discovered that my drive went into degraded mode. The drive had done this once before and i did not have to replace (the drive worked for about a year until yesterday). So i took the same steps i did previously, power off, unplug, remove drive, format, re install, turn back on. The system then started to repair the drive.
However during the repair something went wrong. All the drives failed (indicated by the amber light on the front). The system software did not read any of the drives connected to it and i verified they were seated properly.
After some digging around online i found several posts that indicated the steps to fix this are as follows:
-remove the drives
-format them all
-re insert and the system should re install everything it needs and get it back and running to factory settings
I was fine with this as there wasnt anything on there that I could not easily replace. So i took those steps. The drives are all formatted. I put them back in but im still getting the amber lights and despite the fact its connected to the network, i cannot see the share space. I can’t connect to it or anything.
My question is how can i, from the 4 empty drives, restore to its factory default state? Any help is greatly appreciated.
