I installed a new hard disk and want to retrieve my WD backup, but WD Smartware will not let me restore to the original location. 

If I create a PC with the same name AND use the same username can Smartware restore to the original location?  Or will it only restore to a new location? 

If I must restore to a new lcoation, then how can I reuse my backup set?  Or do I just erase this and start a new backup set for my new hard disk?

If you are retrieving your files to a new computer or new hard drive you cannot use the option “Retrieve to the original location” You have to retrieve your files to a new location and then relocate them as needed.
