WD Quick Formatter is taking way too much time on a new drive

I just bought a WD Elements 2TB drive. I like my devices to be completely clean before using them, so I downloaded the WD Quick Formatter tool but I have a problem now.

The program doesn’t show any kind of progress bar and it’s taking way too much time to format the new drive. I’d like to know the approximate time it takes to do the job as it’s supposed to be a “Quick Formatter”.

Any comment would be highly appreciated.

It is very difficult to determine the time the software should take to format your drive. But I can guarantee that it should not take more than 5 mins if you are doing a quick format on an empty drive.
