WD Photos - not processing new pictures after some deletions

Hello All,

I have a 3TB mybooklive which works fine and I have been using it about a year. I have also been using WDphotos on my IPAD3, it works fairly well so long as you dont add too many pictures at a time. I use a canon SLR and each photo can be about 8/9 meg in size. I appreciate there is a transcoding processes that takes place when you add photos in. I have around 17000 photos on my mybook. All was OK until i deleted some directories that were present, and now it doenst seem to recognise those photos are gone (i get the error saying not found for each one) and adding new directories doesnt seem to recognised. things I have tried -

  1. Rebooting the Mybooklive to get the transcoding process restarted.

  2. rebuilding and rescanning the media index

  3. unchecking and rechecking the twonky service

  4. clearing the cache after each event on the ipad

  5. reinstalling the wdphoto app on the ipad.

Let me be clear, if I navigate through the WD wuisng WDtoGO it reflects what is on the drive perfectly. This issue is a WDphotos/Mybook integreation issue. Last time this happened I removed all my files from the share and started again adding them gradually, this seemed to clear the issue. But given that yesterday I delected my entire 2012 photo directy (2000 photos) and even after clearing the cache my ipad still see’s the directory although complains about files not found, I am not sure this will help.

Any thoughts? the WDphoto app is really useful and I’d hate to bin it.

thanks

Brian

Did this happen after updating to iOS 6?

Hello,

No i am running ios 5.1. Any ideas from the wd guys and girls?

Thx

Brian

Ok this seems to have sorted itself out now. I left it a couple more days and then cleared the cache on my IPAD and it seems to be reflecting what is on the drive now.  Are there any plans to speed up the transcoding process WD?
