WD passport Ultra has completely failed

i have tried to run repair using, the utility drive will not so it, i try to mount it, it will not,

I have downlaoded the WD Drive utility and run tests, it will not do it.

worked fine one time I plugged it in, then not the next. I have all my photography files on it, and have no way currently to access them.
also have tried several different cables, so that is not the issue
any ideas?

Have you tried using a data recovery software to see if you can get the data out of the drive?

no I haven’t, but I have no where to put it, if i could, my memory on my computer is almost full {one of the reasons why I got the external hard drive.

could you suggest some good software to do that though? thanks

My Passport Ultra was working fine in El Capitan and now it doesn’t show up in the finder or the disk utility. Light is on but nobody is home. WD Utility doesn’t see a supported drive. Anyone have success with a similar problem?
