Hi. I found similar cases as mine but there were not solved so here it goes:
My drive was not recognized, showed in control panel but not on My PC. According to Disk Management, it was unallocated.
Tried several WD software and they seem to recognize the drive, even the serial number. One of the software I tried was the firmware updater. It said the operation was successful and to restart the PC. After that, the drive is showing on My PC as a CD Drive. unnaccessible, it crashes any machine. Disk management doesnt load when the thing is plugged. I feel things are worse since I used the firmware updater. Any suggestions?
