WD MyCloud to slow on MacOS

Hi,

My WD My Cloud drive is very slow when I try to connect on it with my iMac (macOS version Sierra 10.12.5).

I saw a lot of members with the same problem. There are any solution to this issue?

Thank you,

You didn’t indicate HOW the Mac is connecting to the My Cloud over your local network. Are you connecting over a WiFi connection or over a wired Ethernet connection? Is the My Cloud connected to a Gigabit router? How many files are you transferring and are they large or small? Are you using Mac Finder or an application/software to copy files to/from the My Cloud? What is the speed of the file transfer? How are you determining the actual speed of the transfer?

Thank you, Hamlet!
I will take a look on this docs.
Regards,

Thank you, Bennor.

Doesn’t matter if the connection is Wi-Fi or Ethernet, In both cases the connection is to slow. Even if I just try to open a folder.
The problem is recent. When I bought the WD drive, I didn`t have this issue.
I saw some members with the same issue as mine and it looks like the solution is to change some configuration that involves decrease the Mac security…

Regards,

I’m having pretty much the same issues. I just updated my 2006 MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8) to a 2014 MacBook Pro (OSXSierra) and now my MyCloud is soo slow.

I have an AirPort Extreme router and I am connected to it via WiFi on my MacBook Pro.

Have you tried that?

It seems to me that the default protocol used by the finder to access to my WD MyClould is not SMB. Using SMB drastically improved the speed transfer.
I created some shortcuts to mount my drive using SMB and it works perfectly now.
