WD My Passport external hard drive no longer recognized by my Mac - blinking white continuously

Hi,

My “WD My passport” external hard drive was plug into my Mac while this one rebooted. Now, the Mac is not recognizing the external hard drive and the WD keeps blinking white continuously (2-3 times per second). Could anybody help? I tried changing the WD disk to another USB port, shutting down the Mac completely and then booting up again, and even restarting the Mac again with the WD still on the USB port… nothing, the WD is not visible in the finder and keeps blinking white.

Please help!!!
