WD My Passport Dead? Help!

I got a My Passport drive about a month ago and have used it to store all of my files (video editing stuff, music projects, ect) but today when i was using it, i went to go set down my computer and there was a knot in the cord so the drive fell off of the table i had it on. I was working on a project at the time that was on the hard drive and so my computer crashed and i had to restart it but, when it turned back on again the drive didn’t mount, and the light on it was blinking. just need to know if i just lost all of my data or if this is something i can fix. Thanks.

Edit: I’m using a Macbook Air early 2014 model

This is a delicate situation. If the unit is no longer detected after a fall then it may have suffered component damage. Data extraction could still be possible, but the process would need to be carried by a professional data recovery service company with specialized equipment.

i did plug the hard drive into another computer (a windows pc) and it recognized it and would show all of the folders as well, but when i tried to open one of the folders it would crash.

I have had my WD drive for maybe less than 60 days. Never dropped it, and it just wouldn’t launch. Checked the cables, etc. The drive doesn’t read. Shows as full and all my financial data I just removed from cloud to the drive is now GONE. Very upsetting, as this is a new drive. How do I fix this?
