WD My Cloud EX4 Email Notifications Stopped Sending with 2.10.302 Firmware update

I just updated my firmware to 2.10.302 which was released on 09/10/2015.  After this update, my Email Alert Notifications have stopped.  I expect these “informational” level alerts daily from my EX4 to confirm that my remote backup completed successfully.   I checked the configuration and it looked okay.  I click the “Send Test Email” button and those test emails DO come through fine.  System generated alerts for my Remote Backup Completed Successfully and other events are NOT sending at all and they used to on the old Firmware.  The Notification configuration matches what was defined and working before the Firmware update.  The email configuration is defined to send ALL alert types and not just Critical.  I even added a 2nd email address and neither address is receiving system generated alerts.  I have TWO EX4 drives in two different homes on different internet providers.  Both EX4’s are NOT sending system generated alerts via email.  My drive can reach the internet and it has been backup up successfully over the internet.  All I need working is the informaitonal email alerts.

Troubleshooting:

  1. I double checked my two ISP spam folders and neither are blocking delivery of the WD emails.

  2. Observation:  The construction of the test messages and system generated messages from the old firmware are slightly different in the “from” field name.  The test message only has “nas.alerts” as the from name where the old system generated messages had “nas.alerts@wdc.com” in the from name.

Please advise if there is a quick fix or if this is a BUG in the Firmwae that requires a software update.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Did you find a solution to this problem? I’m experiencing the same thing.

I had the same issue. Upgrading to the latest firmware fixed it.

Thanks but my device updates firmware automatically. Just had an auto update last night 2.11.140 maybe that will do it. Another thing I noticed is that in win10, mycloud used to show up in explorer/network as category computer now it only shows up as category storage.
