I have several users and folders that I created before that work fine. If I add a new user and add specific folders to them, I can’t connect to the allowed folder or as a network drive with this user. I can create as many new users as I want and they don’t work like the original users I created before. Do you know what it is? I’m just following it now, but I don’t know how long it won’t work
Right click the folder, go to Properties - Security and Sharing, and give that user Full Control in both. Make sure the new account is local, active, and has a password. When mapping the drive, use the full path like \\PCName\FolderName and clear any saved credentials before trying again. Restart once, it usually fixes it.
A new user on the NAS has, of course, full rights…read and write…just like older users…older users connect…newly created users have a problem…it says wrong password even though the password is correct
