The last backup was March 15, 2016. Now my WD My Cloud doesn’t show up in my Devices in Finder on my MackBook Pro (OS X El Capitan 10.11.3). When I login on the website it ways Can’t connect to WDMyCloud. What happened and what do I do to fix it???
What “website” are you logging into to? The My Cloud Dashboard via the local network or the MyCloud.com web portal? Have you tried accessing the My Cloud on the local network via the Finder using the My Cloud IP Address? Have you tried connecting to the My Cloud on the local network via one of the following methods, replacing “wdmycloud” with the name of your My Cloud?
I tried using mycloud.com. I don’t think I named my My Cloud. I am completely lost about everything else you said. I have had a very difficult time with this thing…
It is probably advisable to read the My Cloud User Manual (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/?id=439&type=25) to learn how to access the My Cloud and use it’s various features including how to “map” the My Cloud to your Macintosh computer for easy access. Or see the following WD Support link for general directions on mapping the My Cloud to the Mac.
On the Mac one can connect to the My Cloud by doing “Command+K” which opens a dialog box that will allow you to connect to a “Server” (which is the My Cloud). In the Connect to Server, Server Address field try one of the following to connect to the My Cloud.
The WD MyCloud is not in my Shared folder in Finder anymore. I can’t figure out how to get the screen Connect to Server to pop up. I am almost 62 and doing the best I can. Is there any way you can give me more detailed information or can I call you?
