so a while ago my WD Elements stopped working properly. Windows couldn’t recognize it most of the time and when it did, data transfer was extremely slow (<400KB/s) and sometimes it would even stop transferring altogether for a period of time. I also ran some diagnostics tests with WD Data LifeGuard. Quick Test failed with the following error message:
06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 04 (Unknown failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 96 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!
My question is, is there something else I can try or is the drive 100% defect and I can return it?
