WD Discovery says there is an update, but it fails

Yesterday I noticed a notification in WD Discovery telling me there was an update to WD Discovery 2.1.191 available. When I clicked on iit, the update ran as normal, but at its conclusion I got a message that the update failed. I ran it three more times , even rebooting in between, but I got the same results. Now when I run WD Discovery there are no notifications. Was this update rescinded? Any idea what happened? Thanx.

Hi Logan, thanx for the link. Something is messed up here, and I can’t uninstall DISCOVERY (it does not show up in Control Panel - Remove Progrtams. I manually downloaded the new release, but wanted to delete the old one first. Also, the version that is already installed doesn’t seem to run. When I click it (wd discovery.exe) nothing happens. How can I purge the version that is installed? Thanx.

I have the same problem. I don’t use my cloud home, but I can’t update any software via WD DISCOVERY. The problem appears suddenly and I don’t know why.

I use last verions of WD softwate.

I used WD DISCOVERY version 2.1.288 or 1.3.482. Problem appears in both verions.

It can be not only update problem, problem during first setup is the same.

“SETUP(UPDATE) ERROR - NETWORK ISSUE, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER”
OS is WINDOWS 10 64bit CREATION UPDATE.

In logs in c:\Users\USERNAME.wdc\logs\2017-10-27_18_errors.log
I see “CERT_HAS_EXPIRED” message
