WD Discovery cannot see WDTVLive when i plug my tv into the network

First post

Been using my WD TV Live Media Player for years without a problem. I can play all files off my PC in another room via a cat5 hard wired connection. The files are availabe via Windows shares.

Recently swapped TVs and when I plug my tv into the network, the WDTV Live drops off.

On the WDTV Live I went to network settings > check steeing and it cant see my DNS Router (My Modem/Router/Swith)

I try finding it on the PC using the WD Dscovery tools and it is not there.

The WD TV Live has a manually set IP address of 192.168.0.91. Always has had.

Changed IP Addresses. Swapped cables. Nothing.

Put all back to normal.

Unplugged network cable on TV WD Discoery can see WDTV Live. Confirm the IP address. All good it is 91

Plug TV back in and WDTV Live is gone

The TV’s IP address is 192.168.0.15

So it is not a IP Address conflict.

Any idea?

Hi there, welcome to the community.

Try creating a rule on the router to reserve this IP’s to each device, also check if your TV has a Master Browser option that can be disabled.
