WD As Remote Backup

I have people in two countries that need access to files on one WD.

What I want to have is a WD in each country both linked to the internet and being a mirror of each other so that I have a full backup in each country.

Can this be done?

It sounds like your trying to RSYNC two myclouds together in two seperate locations which I doubt can be done on the MC (I assume you have a My Cloud as that is the forum you have posted in). Though it might be possible via SHH? It could involve a lot of internet traffic and both devices would be a mirror image and not a backup; in that if you deleted a file from one it would also be gone from the other device depending on how often it is set to sync. This type of backup is useful in the event of total drive failure (think of raid 1).

This can be done on more epensive NAS solutions like ReadyNAS.

Better to just have the one My Cloud with both people in each loaction setup to acess the one shared folder and make sure the MC has a backup which could also be accessed via the internet if needed. You could also use a commercial cloud service for this. depending on the volume of data.
