My client noticed that her computer was very sluggish.
Task Manager reported WD App Manager using 99% CPU.
(the client was not accessing/using WD My Cloud)
Ending the task resolved her problem (Windows 10 Pro).
Current firmware: WDMyCloud v04.04.04-101 : Core F/W
Details of the ‘WD App Manager’ might be useful, since that is presumably what is running on the PC. Has she got any WD Apps installed (Smartware, Sync, Access, etc)?
The apps installed are WD Access (WD App Manager) and WD MyCloud on a Windows 10 Pro high-end custom. I have 64GB memory and running a i7-6600U CPU. I only have one WD MyCloud drive but 6 WD MyBooks attached directly to the PC. I see WD App Manager using 95% to 100% CPU sometimes for hours but usually for 15 minutes then cycles down and startup again after 20-30 minutes.
If I kill the App Manager process I can still access the MyCloud so I’m not sure what this tool provides or does. Also, could there be a conflict with WD Quick View?
