Hi,
I run a 4GB MyPassport with a MAC for 2 yaers without any problems, using time machine as well. Today there is no connection availabele. I tried:
a) connecting to a second MAC Pro
b) using the MAC Harddrive Utiility Program. There it shows the HD but in grey letters, not black, and “inactive”. There is a button “activate” but noting happens using it.
I am happy for any idea!!

I also have a WD My Passport For Mac and it stopped working - about two months after the warranty ended! It failed the Complete Drive Test and Time Machine doesn’t back up. What do I do? I’ve disconnected this drive and replaced it with a second WD My Passport For Mac that I bought a few weeks ago intending
to rotate usage (this one is working fine, but for how much longer? - I’ve lost trust in the unit).
