Video not playing when not connected to the internet

Hi I’m new on here so this may have been answered previously.

I have a Wd TV (live?) box and generally use it to view MP4 / AVI files from an external hard drive whilst connected to the net with no problem.

I’m going away to a cottage with no net connection so tried it out not connected the other day and video that would previously play now comes back with a not supported message and wont play back.

Is this a known problem and is there a work around for it.

Welcome to the WD Community.

I haven’t seen this case before. 

I use my media player without net and it works with all the supported files.

Have you tried resetting the unit? If not, please try that using a reset button on the back of the unit.
