I have just purchased a new EX2 to replace a 5 year old WD NAS that won’t connect to our new corporate WIN 10 security environment. I’ve been advised that I need at least Samba version 3.6.23. I don’t want to take the drive out of the box if it’s not capable of mounting this version of Samba. Does anyone know if a WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra 2-Bay 4TB Hotswap NAS 1.3GHz Dual-Core 1GB RAM is capable of running SMB 3.6.23? thanks
In latest firmware released of My Cloud EX2, SMB3 is now the default selection. WD provides the GPL source code on the support site for each firmware which will contain the package versions for samba and everything else.
