Using OLD WD MyCloud locally

I have a MyCloud that is no longer supported for internet access. I removed it from the internet several months ago when this happened I would now like to use it just as a local drive. Is that possible? They seem to say so but give no instructions.

I connected it to my computer using a USB3 cable, powered it up but nothing comes up and the red light is on and it say Network1 disconnected.

I can’t seem to contact WD for support (one of the reasons I did not replace it with their 20% offer); Anyone know how to connect/use this as a regular external drive?

You need to connect your device to your router and make it part of your network. Make sure Cloud Access is off and there is no internet connection. Give it a static address or reserved address.

Mine is working fine on my home network.
