USB connect to DVD player not recognized

My new My Passport Model BYNN0010BBK-WESN is not detected when connected to my Samsung DVD player. It is in NTFS format. I have loaded video files on it and when connected to my PC they are visible and playable on any media player, An earlier model of My Passport that I use regularly works fine with my DVD player. Is there some function that I’m missing or some software that has to be installed to make this new unit work on my DVD player? Thanks.

Look at a drive that works OK. Note what its partition type is (MBR versus GPT), and also what format (exFAT, NTFS, FAT32, etc.)

Make the My Passport Wireless the same. But note, as far as I can recall, the MPW will only work its OWN software if the drive is exFAT or NTFS. I don’t remember if it works FAT32 or not, and I don’t know what’ll happen if you change it from GPT to MBR (or vice versa) from its current state.

The good news is that you can always change it back if it messes it up.
