New 1TB Passport works fine on computer but Blu-Ray player doesn't recognize

Have already had one on-line session with WD - suggested fix, didn’t work. Previous Passport ( 2 years old ) always worked fine…

My guess: New passport is formatted with GPT (GUID Partition Table) instead of MBR (Master Boot Record) partition type.
